About Magick Media…
a little background
“Performing magic has a lot to do with the arrangement of apparent coincidences and providing pathways along which desires can travel, or, to put it in more basic terms, there’s little point in sigilizing for a lottery win if you don’t also buy a lottery ticket.”
Grant Morrison
Magick Media was founded by Drake Moore of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where he lives with his lovely wife, Korry and their effervescent daughter.
Drake began programming at the age of nine, self taught on a Commodore Vic 20 acquired by squirreling away paper route earnings. Manipulating screen pixels became an obsession and perhaps his first conscious magick practice. Drake went on to study computer programming in Peterborough, Ontario where he graduated with honours in Information Technology.
His second practice became writing and music, spawning the little known 2006 industrial music release “sick-machine” as “gore-tek”. Subsequently there came a long period known to some as “the dark night of the soul” where life, death and finally love would bring him back to music four years later.
As a computer consultant in the information technology sector, Drake specialized in C++, Java and J2EE development from 1996 to 2006 with Sierra Systems in Vancouver, British Columbia and Toronto, Ontario. He worked on a number of large scale projects during that time including property tax, customer information systems and systems for banking and provincial governments. His core competencies include development both in the web domain and on the server side. With a keen grasp of logic and modular design, learning new technologies comes naturally and adaptation with ease. The iterative nature of the Rational Unified Software Development Process is an invaluable tool Drake brings to all his creative projects minimizing risk and delivering solutions to happy clients.
“There are no limits, and that applies to everyone on earth.”
Franz Bardon
“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”
Roald Dahl
“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”
Arthur C. Clarke
“Real magic is not about gaining power over others: it is about gaining power over yourself.”
Rosemary Guiley
